"The radio host asked listeners to call in high school graduations; many ppl called in about their children graduating or not and how happy/sad they were. A single mother calls in to say that she is very proud of her child for accomplishing this milestone, but she feels guilty because there will be no one but her to cheer on her child. No father, no siblings, no grandparents. Just her."

Even if i've heard sadder stories, that story really struck me. :/
